Tixel2®
We’ll take a look at what exactly Tixel2® is, what it does and how it does it, and why it’s essential to have it done by a trained and licensed practitioner. Some serious side effects can happen when the treatment is done by someone who isn’t experienced, and you should know about them before you decide on your spa.
What is Tixel2®,
and what are the benefits?
- Wrinkles & fine lines
- Acne scars
- Pigmentation issues
- Sun damage
- Port wine stains
- Loose, sagging skin
- Eyelid skin laxity and hooding
Not only can it be used for these conditions and many more, but the Tixel2® can be used to gain many distinct benefits. Some of the benefits of the procedure are below.
Non-Invasive
Tixel2® is a non-invasive treatment that also doesn’t use any radiofrequency radiation emissions. This means not only is it incredibly safe, but it is designed to provide minimal discomfort with minimal downtime. This means it’s a great alternative to many traditional procedures, particularly those that are invasive or lead to uncomfortable recoveries.
Safe & Effective
Another benefit to Tixel2® is that the technology ensures it can be safely used with all skin types. This doesn’t mean that it can be used by anyone, but those with the proper medical and professional training will be able to use it to effectively treat all skin types.
Fast Recovery Time
Some skin treatments require significant downtime, special aftercare, and more. Tixel2® treatments typically have the patient returning to their normal daily activities within a day or two. This minimal downtime means you can get treatment without disrupting your whole life for a week at a time.
Versatile
While the Tixel2® was originally developed and designed to be used on the tissues of the face, it can be used for a wide range of skin concerns over many areas of the body. While it may not be a perfect “all-in-one” treatment, it certainly offers a degree of versatility that other treatments may not be able to offer.
How is Tixel2® treatment done?
Before the procedure, your skin will be cleaned and prepped for treatment. Topical anesthetic will be applied prior to treatment to ensure comfort. Then the Tixel2® device, will be heated to about 400 degrees C.
The heated tip will be briefly applied to the surface of the skin, which results in microchannels that stimulate collagen production. It also prompts the skin to start natural healing processes. The process is repeated for the entire treatment area.
A Tixel2® treatment can be customized and individualized for each patient. The temperature and contact duration of the tip can be customized to achieve different effects as well. Each session will typically last for 30-60 minutes, and subsequent treatments should be spaced out by at least 4-6 weeks.
What happens if Sentient Tixel2® treatment is done wrong or by someone who's not a professional/experienced?
With the extreme temperatures that a Tixel2® device is capable of reaching, it’s no surprise that there can be some serious side effects if the technician isn’t experienced or properly trained. Some of the complications can include:
- Infection from improperly sterilized equipment, or lack of hygiene during the treatment.
- Burns that result from incorrect temperature settings or prolonged skin contact.
- Uneven results stem from a lack of training or experience.
- Delays in healing can come from a lack of proper post-treatment care, which can increase the likelihood of scarring.
